new game
I made some last-minute changes to my new game last night, and now QA is about to sign off on it at 3:00pm, then 12 hours later it will go "live" on our website for sale. This is cutting it close, but I'm happy with how it turned out.
About 3 months of 60-hour weeks followed by 3 months of 80-hour weeks -- now that the stress is starting to dissipate I find I can barely think, or walk! I need a nap.
No vacation yet though, I have to be around in case issues come up. Since I can fix the game and we can get a new version on our site within an hour, I need to stick around. But going back to 40-hour weeks will be *like* a vacation.

I'm pretty happy.

I have been there, and am filled with sympathy for the crazy work schedule. When 40 hours seems like a vacation, you have been working too hard.

Congratulations on the successful completion of the project.

Thank you! Luckily we have had crummy weather until now, so I think I'm getting my evenings back just in time for summer to start.

6 months of crunch? Ouch. Glad to hear things are normal again.

Yeah -- or almost normal at least. I got a hair-cut and bought groceries; at least my ice cream level is back to normal quickly. :)

People just don't understand what effort it takes to make even the smallest of games. I've just started making a teeny, tiny game on my own a few weeks ago. Wish me luck!

Good luck! A door I could have closed would have helped me a lot, hopefully you'll be able to make plenty of "concentration" time.

so you should tell us what game it is, so we can all immediately go out and get it :-)

Congratulations! No doubt your hard work will result in a game that is immensely popular with all who play. :) I wish you a good book a good chair, sunshine, and a shade tree. I recommend The Name of the Wind if you haven't read it yet. But book two isn't out yet, dogone it. Still.

Ben you really did such an awesome job, you should definitely be proud of yourself. From where we all started with it, it ended on an incredibly stellar note. :) I'm going to play a little with Darren today, so he can go back to Pop Cap and say, "holy crap, BFG is the shizzy". ;)

Thank you for your encouragement on the walking trail! actually, I might have even been on the ride home already when you sent that text. We finished about 3 hours before the closing ceremony, so we just decided to go home afterwards instead of staying and waiting for other walkers...we were just too sleepy and exhausted.

I'll be posting pictures tomorrow!
LOVE YOU BEN!

You finished 3 hours early? WHOA, I guess your training worked. :) I look forward to the pictures -- I told several people about your walk today and they were all impressed. Actually they could barely believe it. It's quite a feat, congratulations on making it through! I'm glad to hear from you today.

Aw, you were talking about my walk, that's cool!

I've been nauseous all day, actually, which all started before noon today when I decided to take some percocet for the pain which I had leftover from my nose surgery. BIG MISTAKE. I knew I hated the stuff, but I've been in such pain I thought it would be better than just Ibuprofen. Hurling is no fun. hehe.

ok, tmi!

I'm so tired.
